A Station House Officer (SHO) has been arrested for his involvement in parading a woman and man naked on streets for their ‘intention of adultery’.

According to the concerned SSP Police, four policemen nominated in the case have so far been held while raids were being conducted to arrest two more who are at large.

The SHO had fled after the case of the couple’s naked parade was registered but was finally arrested later today .

Earlier, the SHO and two of his Assistant Sub Inspectors were suspended for parading the couple naked in Gambat, a town located near CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah’s ancestral city Khairpur.

Reportedly the couple was arrested on charges of “intent to commit adultery” in Mirbahar area of Gambat on July 27 after which they were forced to walk naked through the town to the police station.

According to SSP Khairpur, a police party had raided a suspected brothel last month and allegedly caught a man and a woman committing adultery, however, he added that his department was looking into the allegations that the couple was made to walk naked to the police station.

“If the cops accused of such inhuman treatment towards the couple were found guilty, they will not be spared”, he said.
