It was while surfing the net today, when i happened to come across a recent video of Mubashir Luqman (Anchor-Dunya Tv) and as predicted there he was sitting in his gruesome studio, wagging his tongue, lashing out at yet another political matter. This time it was the most talked about initiative taken by the Government of the Punjab under the e-Youth Development scheme to distribute “FREE 100k LAPTOPs”.
For all those who have so far been asleep or too busy with their socializing and sheehsa get together, let me brief them, that this is another welfare scheme initiated by CM Punjab, Mr.Shahbaz Sharif. This scheme intends to provide free laptops to those brilliant students who are presently studying in “PUBLIC SECTOR” colleges and universities or are high achievers of the Boards of Punjab in Matriculation Examinations. In addition to all this, this is also aimed to facilitate and help students rise above problems and hurdles they face in their path to gain knowledge and excel professionally.
So far, all political parties are out witting each other in blames, accusations, allegations etc. Our media has apparently decided not to remain behind too. This whole scenario has engulfed the laptop scandal with fierce beating and media men are throwing serious rubbish, something that they are definitely notorious for. I won’t discuss the pricing of laptops or the decision of Punjab Government to give away laptops instead of building schools or doing something for electricity blah blah…
Lashing out at this scheme or PML(N) to be more precise just because you are against PML(N) for what so ever reason is ridiculous. Mubashir Luqman in his programme on Dunya Tv did just the same. Did Mubashir Luqman and others as a matter of fact fail to notice the excitement and immense happiness this scheme has brought to thousands of less fortune students. It will not be wrong if I write here and say it LOUD that this initiative has yet not received its true appreciation both by media and general public.
What can be more lame then saying that as majority of students are supporters of PTI, this scheme is a technique of gathering the youth’s support. To all those who say all this rubbish, do you not know that the youth of today is not like Mubashir Luqman :p The youth of Pakistan is rational, sensible, sober and austere. I’m not advocating PML(N) or Shahbaz Sharif here, rather I actually want to draw everyone’s attention on other matters raised by Mubashir Luqman.
From what it appears, I felt some of Mubashir Luqman’s relative was unable to fulfill the criteria set for claiming the free merit laptop. His allegations were so very baseless and crazy. He said all the laptops distributed amongst the students are not manufactured by Dell company, but the fact is they are manufactured in China. I think he meant that these laptops are china-made, non genuine laptops with Dell’s logo forged on them.
Next Mubashir Luqman starts comparing the e-Youth laptops with some other model of Dell. Please note that he never mentions what model of Dell is e comparing the e-Youth laptop with and he further shamelessly states that the OS (operating system)installed in the e-Youth laptops is not original but is in reality a pirated copy of Microsoft Windows. In addition to this, Mubashir Luqman regretfully says Government of the Punjab is going to get into some real big trouble if Microsoft gets to know about it.
The most shocking of all was when Mubashir Luqman so arrogantly claimed e-Youth laptops (Dell Inspiron N4050) being equipped and installed with a 15 year old obsolete technology and slams these machines to be 400 times slower as compared to the original Dell laptop.
Dear Mr. Luqman, Can you please take time out of your silly socializing gatherings and stupid talk show recordings and for once in your life visit a computer shop near by. When you do so, I humbly request you to keenly examine the laptops to get your crazy facts all straightened up.
It is also stated that you have been misinformed on the fact that the e-Youth laptops are installed with a pirated copy of Microsoft’s Operating System. The fact is the laptops under this scheme are installed with an operating system named “Ubuntu” and for your information Ubuntu is an open source free operating system.

Dear Afrah!
Well done. Chief Minister is doing a great job. He must be appreciated for his untiring efforts. May God bless him.
Well done!!!
)) Not really an avid supporter of PML N or CM (despite being awarded the laptop) but yes the scheme definitely worked wonders for thee under privileged students. Moreover the laptops are in excellent condition, Ubuntu is installed mainly as these laptops r mean to b for educational purposes only. I think its time our media stops discussing petty issues and move on to real ones plaguing the entire nation.
